Situation: Over the past 100 years, Alcan Cable has been in business since 1902 – over 100 years - evolving into a leading supplier of aluminum energy cables. As you can imagine, staying in business for that long requires dedication and focus. Alcan Cable’s secret to success: they take care of their customers. Even so, it takes constant effort to maintain customer relationships in the competitive energy cable industry.

Challenge: Alcan Cable had an important sales meeting in Las Vegas at the fabulous Venetian Hotel. The meeting would be held for key customers from their Mexico sales territory. Of course, the customers were coming to Las Vegas for work, but we wanted to treat them to a little vacation and pampering during their leisure time. In short: we needed to create THE event of a lifetime! However, we knew that would be a challenge, since these customers were world travelers and quite sophisticated.

Solution: Our concept was to create a “Viva Las Vegas!” experience, a hybrid of old style Vegas and the days of old world traveling. To begin the journey, each customer received a custom invitation to the event – which was actually a real photography keepsake book. The invitation was housed in a beautiful box, designed to look like a vintage travel trunk.

To create excitement, we placed “photos” of upcoming itinerary events. And what great events! Dining at the Delmonico Steakhouse; watching Cirque de Soliel’s Beatles LOVE Show; taking a scooter tour of the Red Canyon and much more! As a courtesy, we also included flight and hotel information. Later, they could always use the invitation as – what else - a photo keepsake book of their “Viva Las Vegas!” trip!

Once each customer and spouse arrived at the Venetian, they would receive three gift boxes: For Her, For Him and For Them. Each gift box resembled a small travel trunk and contained items that supported daily events on their itinerary. For example, the For Her gift box had a lovely shopping bag and water bottle for the scheduled ladies shopping spree. In the For Him gift box, a leather journal and nice ballpoint pen – for taking notes at the sales meeting. Finally, in the For Them gift box: tickets to events, $100 VISA gift card, wine, goodies and a camera to record the best sales trip of their lives!
